SummerSlam was a PPV event scheduled by Gore and Perkins for their WWE 2K19 Universe Mode first series. This was their 4th PPV.

Storylines:

The main rivalry for SmackDown heading into SummerSlam was Andrade vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship. SmackDown General Manager Chris Jericho created the Brock Lesnar challenge. If Brock was able to defeat all of his opponents, then he would receive a WWE Championship match at SummerSlam. He was successful in all of his matches. On the last week before SummerSlam, WWE Champion Andrade faced off against Brock Lesnar. During the PPV, it was announced that Brock vs. Andrade would be a No Holds Barred match.

The main rivalry for RAW heading into SummerSlam was The Undertaker vs. Rusev for the World Heavyweight Championship. The Undertaker defeated The Miz to face Rusev for the World Heavyweight Championship on RAW.

Adam Cole and Rey Mysterio had battled for the Intercontinental Championship at Backlash, a match that which Rey had won. After Rey lost the title at Extreme Rules, a match which Cole won, Cole eventually lost the championship to Braun Strowman. Cole and Rey Mysterio were not done which each other, as which Cole and Mysterio battled. After that, a Last Man Standing match was scheduled.

It was revealed that Drew McIntyre and John Cena would be facing off at SummerSlam ( a match which Drew won). Because of this Drew would be facing Daniel Bryan for the US Title the same night.

Bobby Lashley and EC3 both debuted attacking Braun Strowman and Velveteen Dream. Lashley and EC3 would team together in a tag team match against Strowman and Dream, a match Lashley and EC3 won after Dream low blowed EC3. Bobby Lashley was then scheduled to face Braun Strowman in a steel cage for the Intercontinental Championship, while EC3 would be facing Velveteen Dream for the NX3 Star Championship.

After Undisputed Era got around Goldberg's nerves, Goldberg and Jericho scheduled Undisputed Era to defend the Undisputed Tag Team Titles against Heavy Machinery and War Raiders.

3 masked men debuted on SmackDown randomly attacking a superstar. Chris Jericho then had enough of that as Jericho and Goldberg agreed to team up against the 3 masked men in a 6-man tornado tag Hell in a Cell match. It was revealed that Jericho had chosen Curt Hawkins to be by Jericho and Goldberg's side.

At Backlash, Kairi Sane defeated Shayna Baszler to win her first WWE Women's Championship. A rematch was scheduled for SummerSlam.

Preliminary Matches:

The first match saw Drew McIntyre take on John Cena. Drew McIntyre dominated Cena for the first half of the match until Cena reversed one of McIntyre's moves repeatedly punching him in the corner. He followed it up with a knee to the face. Cena then dominated McIntyre. McIntyre hit Cena with a headbutt. Cena then reversed McIntyre's finishing maneuver the Claymore kick. Cena attempted an Attitude Adjustment, but McIntyre the move into a Future Shock DDT for a nearfall. As McIntyre starting taunting Cena quickly got up and hit an Attitude Adjustment for a one count. Cena then enabled his comeback, with McIntyre reversing with a punch. He then hit a headbutt on Cena. McIntyre then hit a Claymore kick followed up with a Future Shock DDT to win the match and face Daniel Bryan for the United States Championship later that evening. After the match Drew McIntyre attacked John Cena with a Claymore Kick.

The second match saw Braun Strowman defend the Intercontinental Championship against Bobby Lashley in a Steel Cage Match. This was Bobby Lashley's first singles match. Lashley executed a Stalling Suplex on Strowman only for a 2 count. Strowman threw Lashley on the Steel Cage followed by a B.S Boot. Strowman attempted a Running Powerslam, but Lashley reversed. Lashley executed 2 Dominators but Strowman quickly got up. Strowman executed a BS Boot. Lashley hit a second Stalling Suplex followed by a Spear for a nearfall. Strowman then executed a Reverse Chokeslam on Lashley for a nearfall. Strowman threw Lashley on the Cell twice. Strowman attempted a B.S Boot but was reversed into a German Suplex for a one count. Strowman then executed another B.S Boot. Lashley reversed a Running Powerslam. Strowman hit another B.S Boot. Lashley reversed a Reverse Chokeslam. Lashley bodyslammed Strowman through the Cell to win the match and his first Intercontinental Championship.

The third match saw Kairi Sane defend the WWE Women's Championship against Shayna Baszler. Sane executed a Stunner for a nearfall. Kairi executed the Insane Elbow Drop for a one count. Kairi executed a sliding elbow on Shayna. Kairi attempted another Insane Elbow but Shayna reversed. Shayna executed the Kirifuda Clutch on Sane only for her to get out of it into a Spinning Back Fist. Kairi attempted an Insane Elbow only to be encountered into a Kirifuda Clutch. Sane got out of it again. Baszler executed the Kirifuda Clutch for a third time only for Sane to get out of it again. Shayna executed 2 Gutwrench Suplexes. Shayna attempted a fourth Kirifuda Clutch only for Sane to reverse. Sane attempted an Insane Elbow only for Shayna to reverse it in to 2 Gutwrench Suplexes. Shayna attempted a fourth Kirifuda Clutch with Sane reversing into a Single Leg Boston Crab, only for Shayna to get out of it. Kairi rolled up Baszler for a nearfall with Sane executing The Anchor only for Baszler to get out of it. Baszler then executed 2 Gutwrench Suplexes followed by a fifth Kirifuda Clutch only for Sane to get out of it again. Sane then rolled Baszler up for a nearfall only for Shayna to hit the Gutwrench Suplexes. Sane reversed a Kirifuda Clutch. Sane rolled Baszler up again for a nearfall. Sane then executed an Insane Elbow outside of the ring. Shayna was then able to hit 2 Gutwrench Suplexes. As Baszler attempted the Kirifuda Clutch, Sane reversed. Sane then executed a third insane elbow to win the match and retain her title.

The fourth match saw Adam Cole take on Rey Mysterio in a Last Man Standing match. Adam Cole grabbed a Steel Chair under the ring but Rey Mysterio reversed the Steel Chair shot. Cole threw Mysterio into the corner and hit Mysterio with the Steel Chair onto the legs. Cole attempted a Patella Brainbuster but Mysterio reversed, hitting Cole with the steel chair multiple times. Mysterio then hit a 619, attempting a splash, but Cole reversed into a DDT on the steel chair. Mysterio executed a springboard splash on Cole. Cole then executed Florida Keys. As Cole was looking for the Panama Sunrise, Rey reversed into a 619. Rey attempted a Diving Leg Drop, but Cole reversed landing on the chair. Cole missed an Elbow Drop. Bobby Fish then distracted Rey Mysterio, giving Cole the oppurtunity to hit Florida Keys on Mysterio. Mysterio reversed the Last Shot into a 619. Mysterio attempted a splash, but Cole reversed. he then hit a Patella Brainbuster. Adam Cole then hit the Panama Sunrise only for Mysterio to get up at 9. Mysterio then hit a 619 on Cole followed by a splash. Cole then attempted steel chair shots to Mysterio only for him to reverse. Mysterio hit a 2 619s only for the referee not to count. Cole then executed a Patella Brainbuster folowed by a Last Shot to but Mysterio open. Mysterio kipped up. Cole got steel steps but Mysterio reversed, starting to he him with the steps. Cole executed a suplex on the steps. Cole hit another Florida Keys. Mysterio then kipped up and hit a 619 to win the match. and end the feud.

The fifth match saw The Velveteen Dream defend the NX3 Star Championship against EC3 in a No DQ Match. This was EC3's first singles match. Velveteen starting the match hitting EC3 with a bat. Velveteen then hit EC3 with a massacre of punches. EC3 hit an STO on Dream. EC3 hit the One Percent for a one count. Dream reversed a back suplex into a crossbody followed by a low blow. Dream then got a steel chair only for EC3 to reverse the shot and do one of his own. He then executed a low blow. Dream then hit a back suplex on the apron. Dream hit EC3 with the steel steps. Dream hit a Purple Rainmaker outside of the ring. Dream it EC3 with the steel chair. EC3 hit Dream with a low blow. EC3 hit Dream with the One Percent outside of the ring. EC3 hit Dream with a Frog Splash for a nearfall. Velvetten reversed an STO into a Death Valley Driver. Dream then hit a low blow to EC3. EC3 reversed a crossbody into an STO. EC3 reversed a Purple Rainmaker into an STO. Dream reversed the One Percent into the famouser. EC3 hit an STO. EC3 then hit Dream with the One Percent to bust Dream open. Velveteen reversed the second One Percent, attempting a low blow with EC3 hitting his own. EC3 hit an STO followed by the One Percent to win the match and the title.

The sixth match saw the Team of Chris Jericho, Goldberg, and Curt Hawkins go up against The Sect in a 6-man Hell in a Cell Tornado Tag Match. If Sect were to lose the match, they were to have to remove their masks. Win however, and they would get a shot at either title of RAW or SmackDown. Sect A hit a G.T.S on Hawkins to win the match.

The seventh match saw Undisputed Era defend the WWE Tag Team Championships against War Raiders and Heavy Machinery in a Ladder Match. War Raiders quickly pulled out ladders. O'Reilly attempted a diving dropkick on Rowe, only for Rowe to reverse and O'Reilly to break his own neck. Bobby Fish climbed up the ladder only for Hanson and Otis to save the match. Otis attempted to win the match for his team only for Hanson to save the match again. Fish hit a low blow on Rowe. Hanson attempted to win the match for his team only for Fish to save the match. Fish attempted to win the match while Otis slowly climbed up the ladder, only for Rose to push the ladder. As Otis was attempting to win the match for his team, Fish quickly climbed up the ladder, threw Otis off the ladder, and was able to retrieve the title to win the match.

Main Event Matches:

The eight match saw Andrade "Cien" Almas defend the WWE Championship against Brock Lesnar in a No Holds Barred match. The beginning saw Andrade get out of the ring, get back in and attempt an enziguri. Brock attempted a German Suplex, with Andrade reversing it into a double axe handle. Andrade did his signature taunt only for Brock to pull his elbows out. Lesnar then dominated Andrade with multiple suplexes. Brock then got a steel chair only for Andrade to hit a low blow after getting in the ring. Andrade then grabbed the steel chair and hit Brock with it. Andrade wedged the chair between the turnbuckle. As Andrade taunted, Lesnar hit Andrade with German Suplexes. Andrade had ring awareness got out of the ring and got a bat. Andrade attempted hitting Lesnar with the bat, but Lesnar reversed knocking Andrade out with the bat. Lesnar attempted an F5, only for Andrade to reverse. Andrade whiplashed Lesnar into the turnbuckle, with his head hitting the steel chair. Andrade then hit Lesnar with a running meteora. Andrade attempted a crossbody only for Lesnar to quickly get up and catch Andrade hitting an F5 on him. Lesnar got out of the ring and removed the Announce Table parts. Andrade then got out of the ring and hit a Hammerlock DDT on Lesnar, busting Lesnar open. Andrade then hit a low blow on Lesnar. Andrade hit Lesnar with the steel steps. Lesnar powerbombed Andrade onto the steel steps. Lesnar then powerbombed Andrade again. Lesnar attempted a diving move, with him botching the move. Brock got furious and dominated Andrade. Andrade hit a diving splash on Lesnar. Andrade attempted a diving moonsault on Lesnar through the Announce Table only for Lesnar to reverse. Lesnar then powerbombed Andrade onto the steel steps. Andrade reversed Suplex City into a low blow and hit him with a bat. Andrade hit a Cartwheel Pele Kick followed by a Hammerlock DDT for a one count. Lesnar hit Andrade with an F5 for a one count. Andrade hit Lesnar with the Steel Steps. Lesnar reversed the meteora into Suplex City. Lesnar attempted an F5 but Andrade reversed. Andrade hit Lesnar with a Cartwheel Pele Kick into a Hammerlock DDT to win the match and retain his title.

The ninth match saw Mr. Money in the Bank Daniel Bryan defend the United States Championship against Drew McIntyre. The match started with Drew McIntyre hitting a Piledriver to Daniel Bryan for a one count. As he attempted another piledriver, Bryan reversed. Bryan then whiplashed McIntyre on the apron and hit an Apron DDT. McIntyre kipped up and hit a Gutbuster. From there, he dominated Daniel Bryan. Bryan reversed another piledriver into the Kneeling Yes Kicks. Bryan attempted Knee Plus, but McIntyre reversed into a headbutt. McIntyre hit Daniel Bryan with the Claymore Kick for a nearfall. Bryan hit two brainbusters on McIntyre for two nearfalls. McIntyre hit Daniel Bryan with two piledrivers which busted Bryan open. Bryan kipped up and attempted the Yes! Lock, only for McIntyre to touch the ropes. Bryan busted McIntyre open with dropkicks. Daniel Bryan hit the Kneeling Yes Kicks to McIntyre. McIntyre reversed the Yes! Lock into a headbutt. McIntyre hit Daniel Bryan with a Claymore followed by a Future Shock DDT. McIntyre attempted another Claymore, but Bryan reversed into the Yes! Lock. McIntyre touched the ropes. Bryan then hit Knee Plus on McIntyre for a nearfall. McIntyre hit Bryan with the Air Raid Siren followed with a Future Shock DDT to win the match and the title.

The tenth match and main event saw Rusev defend the World Heavyweight Championship against The Undertaker. The beginning saw Rusev try to put Undertaker down. Rusev tried to repeatedly hit Undertaker with strikes, but Undertaker hit some of his own. Rusev then carried Undertaker, showing his strength. Rusev then attempted to tap Undertaker out with the Accolade only for Undertaker to reverse into a chokeslam. Undertaker hit the Last Ride on Rusev for a nearfall. Rusev hit an outside superplex on Undertaker. Rusev removed the Announce Table parts only for Undertaker to put Rusev through it with a Tombstone Piledriver, busting Rusev open. Undertaker powerbombed Rusev onto the LED trons. Undertaker activated his comeback. Undertaker attempted to tap Rusev out with Hell's Gate only for Rusev to get out of it. Rusev carried Undertaker again. Rusev hit the Machka Kick on Undertaker. Undertaker attempted a Tombstone Piledriver only for Rusev to reverse into the Machka Kick. Rusev attempted the Brute Bomb only for Undertaker to reverse. Undertaker hit a Tombstone Piledriver, only for it to be a rope break. Rusev attempted a Machka Kick, but Taker reversed. Undertaker hit a super chokeslam followed by another chokeslam. Undertaker attempted a Tombstone Piledriver, with Rusev reversing. Rusev hit a Machka Kick. Rusev attempted a Brute Bomb, with Undertaker reversing. He attempted a chokeslam with Rusev reversing. Rusev hit a Machka Kick. Rusev attempted a Brute Bomb with Taker reversing. Undertaker hit a Tombstone Piledriver for a one count. Rusev made Undertaker tap out to the Accolade to win the match and retain his title.

Reception:

SummerSlam recieved positive reviews by people viewing the videos. Canadaguy13 called the IC Title ending the " Greatest end to a steel cage match". Many people praised the Rey/Cole match, with Virtual Pup 2099 replying with " Rey and Adam Cole can't have a bad match together". Darius French replied with "Another match of the year contender for Rey Mysterio and Adam Cole". Most praise was for the Andrade/Brock match with TheArsenalFan 1991 calling Andrade "Cien" Almas "Superstar of the year". Tommy Atwell would reply with " Andrade vs. Brock was so freakin incredible, and it wasn't even a one sided affair where Andrade just came back in the end. They really went shot for shot and Andrade won. Ben Henshall stated " Andrade vs. brock was amazing". Your average Joe called Andrade vs. Brock "unbelievable". Seth Freaking Rollins called SummerSlam "Better than the actual PPVs". while others called SummerSlam their favorite PPV.
